Young Businessman Announces Campaign Focused on Addressing Challenges of Record Growth

BELMONT, NORTH CAROLINA – On Thursday, Marc Seelinger, a local businessman and member of the Belmont Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, announced his intention to seek one of three seats on the Belmont City Council in the upcoming November elections. His campaign is focused on giving all citizens of Belmont a voice in the development process and leveraging the opportunities that this growth brings while preserving what makes Belmont such a desirable place to live.

“With growth pouring in from all around us, and especially now with the light rail extension into Gaston County, there are many decisions that city council will have to make that are too important to be left to business as usual”, Seelinger said. “The people of Belmont deserve a city council that will fight for them and will make sure that their voice is the most important one at the table. Belmont is not just another suburb, and the people of Belmont deserve a city council that understands what makes Belmont such a unique place to live. It’s your voice, and your Belmont.”

Seelinger operates a small real estate business with his wife, Cherry. He has degrees in Economics and Chinese from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and has extensive data analytics and business intelligence experience working for some of the nation’s leading insurance carriers. The 2019 Municipal Elections are November 5th. More information is available on the campaign’s website at www.yourbelmont.com.
